NEW YORK, NY New York City artist Karlo will be the head-makeup-artiste at the ‘Vena Cava’ (http://venacavanyc.com/press.html) fashion show on September 8, 2004 at the Soho Grand Hotel in New York City at 1:00 PM, the first day of the New York Spring and Summer collections for 2005. Karlo is sponsored by cosmetic visionary Shu Uemura.

The inspiration for designer team Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai of ‘Vena Cava’ for their Spring/Summer 2005 were the constructionist artists Lissitzky and Mayakovsky. Is in these constructionists artists that Karlo will base his designs for the makeup concept; "a refreshing and young take on the make-up, reminiscing on the past but a very contemporary take on it, you bring it to 2005..." says Karlo. "I’ve skipped a season without shows, I needed to refocus giving up things in life that bored me, these new designers are very exciting."

A make-up artist based in New York City since 1991, Karlo was the driving force behind the U.S. makeup launch of "Givenchy Beauté." In 1992, the cover of "W" magazine credited his makeup artistry, and Karlo’s career surged, encompassing a montage of celebrity, editorial and television entities, including covers for "Italian Vogue/ Vogue Pelle," Sportswear International, DNR, W-Men’s Portfolio and British Vogue.
