Make-up Artist to the Stars opens Make-up store in New Orleans
July 31, 2004 -- The first facelift in historic Magazine Streets revival will be the addition of the “hottest makeup shop in the city.” Originally opened on South Carrollton Ave, BGD Make-up Artistry & Beauty Bar, an uprising 1200sg. ft. lofty beauty stop specializing in brows, lashes, make-up and martinis, brings the NY-Hollywood flare to uptown New Orleans with the opening of it's new location at 1800 Hastings Place on August 2, 2004.
Brandy Gomez-Duplessis, a New York born make-up artist, developed BGD Make-up Artistry & Beauty Bar with the mission to ‘Create The Woman You Want And Enhance The Woman You Are.’ The concept was to create a make-up store for ladies who love make-up, body products and enjoy the sole gratification of being a woman. With exceptional work, word of mouth and a contact A-list national media sources such as P.Diddy, BET, Woman's Day and Town & Country Magazine, to locals & locals events such as R&B singer Euricka, Gospel group Blessed, Fashion Designer Harold Clarke, The W. Hotel, Gambit Weekly, 2004 Big Easy Awards, News Reporters Shaunna Sanford and Michelle Miller, to various album covers, music videos, ad's, editorials, and fashion spreads, an expansion was inevitable. Make-up Artist Brandy Gomez-Duplessis has not only worked with talented people in the entertainment industry she has even bonded with a few of them that she has been mentioned on P. Diddy album jackets. So she has earned her title of being called a Celebrity Make-up Artist.
BGD Make-up Artistry & Beauty Bar is more than lipstick and eye shadow combined to simply cover blemishes and laugh lines, it is totally enhancing experience of manicured strokes flourishing in an array of forms and colors. Open from 10am-6pm Monday-Saturday, The BGD Beauty Bar will offer three days of progressive beauty treatments “Don’t Be Brooke Brow Mondays” with brows for $10, “Get Lashed Wednesdays” with lashes for $10.00 and a must before the weekend “Make-up & Martini Friday” where you get a make-up application served with complimentary martinis.
Magazine Street revival may not solely be contingent on BGD Beauty Bar's opening, but can you IMAGINE BEING BEAUTIFUL WITHOUT IT.
